Milk Chocolate is Better Than Dark Chocolate

Imagine going to the store because you’re in the mood for chocolates. But when you get to the store, you see so many options. There’s pink chocolate, white chocolate, salted caramel, unsweetened chocolate, etc. You have narrowed it down to two choices. Milk chocolate or dark chocolate. That’s why I’m here today, to help you make the right choice, the best choice.

To start, I conducted a poll. A poll to determine how many people will choose milk chocolate over dark chocolate. I had 184 responses to the form, and out of the 184 people who responded, milk chocolate won with a landslide of 133 people choosing milk chocolate! This poll had an age group range of 4th grade, 6th grade, 7th grade, 8th grade, and adults. An anonymous person said their reason for liking milk chocolate more, and I quote was “Milk chocolate is sweeter and makes my taste buds happy!” A key reason why milk chocolate is the best is because of its sweet taste. It is not overwhelmingly sweet or bitter in any way, unlike dark chocolate.

I don’t know about you guys but I’m kind of tired right now. Oh! I spontaneously found a piece of chocolate on this podium. It’s milk chocolate. If you have ever been tired when studying or not in a good mood, then have a piece of milk chocolate! It is known to be a mood booster and an energy booster. To be more specific, it releases a compound called tyrosine, which causes the release of dopamine, into your brain. Dopamine triggers motivation, and pleasantness in the brain. So it is very beneficial. Along with releasing dopamine into your brain, milk chocolate also contains small amounts of caffeine to energize you. It’s like having coffee but tastier!

Additionally, in order to understand why milk chocolate is better, it is essential to have a full understanding of why it is so popular. Milk chocolate is very creamy. The feel of milk chocolate once you bite it is a satisfying taste. It ends up just melting in your mouth. Milk chocolate is not too sweet, and there are some types of milk chocolates that are unsweetened as well. Milk chocolate has the feel of sitting in front of a hot fire on a cold day when I am eating it. In other words, it is relaxing/calming to eat. Dark chocolate is too bitter, personally, it makes me shudder when I eat it and just leaves a bitter taste in my mouth for the rest of the day.

The majority of the votes for dark chocolate had the exact reason for why they liked it better. Because it is healthier. And I agree, it does have many health benefits. It contains many antioxidants that are beneficial to your health. Again, an anonymous person said, “In multiple university studies it has been proven that eating dark chocolate can improve brain function.”

Though dark chocolate has some health benefits, there are many issues that follow it. According to the article “Is Dark Chocolate Bad For Your Health?” some dark chocolate brands contain ingredients that can cause health issues. High amounts of the heavy metals cadmium and lead were found in some types of dark chocolate. So ask yourself, is dark chocolate actually better for you or worse?

Milk chocolate is used in a large variety of candies such as Snickers, Twix, Kit Kats, and Milky Way, to name a few. If you enjoy eating these candies, then you like milk chocolate. It is like a transitive property, for those of you who can stand math. Overall, milk chocolate has a good balance of sweetness as well as health benefits. Going back to the start of my speech when I was talking about milk chocolate and dark chocolate, it should be pretty clear why milk chocolate is the superior chocolate. So make the right choice, the best choice, by choosing milk chocolate.

Family Vacation Time

I love going on vacation don't you? There are so many exciting places to visit, with things to do for every type of person. There are places for people who want to relax or go on an adventure. Below are some places I have traveled, that I would recommend going to! 1. Maldives We went to Maldives last summer and had an amazing time. I experienced a lot of firsts there. I went scuba diving for the first time in my life. Although it was not a full experience(the instructor teaching us held on to our oxygen tanks, to keep us from swimming away), we still saw so many amazing fish. There were so many different shapes and sizes along with colorful coral. We saw schools of fish, and they swam in between us. They were so close I could almost touch them. On top of seeing the sea animals we saw an abandoned shipwreck. It was a smaller sized ship compared to the ones in movies, but it was so cool! Another first I had there was walking on a white sand beach. These beaches are completely ...

Slacker

Slacker is one of my favorite novels by Gordon Korman Cameron Boxer is very happy to spend his life avoiding homework, hanging out with his friends, and gaming for hours in his basement. But one day he almost lets his house burn down while gaming. Oh no..... It's time for some serious damage control and his parents say he has to join an after school club, otherwise they will take away his video games. Then Cameron and his friends invent a fake school club that will make it seem like they're doing good deeds instead of slacking off. There is one problem though. Some kids think the club is real--and Cameron is stuck being president. Soon Cameron is part of a mission to save a beaver named Elvis from certain extinction. Along the way, he makes some new friends--and some powerful new enemies. The guy who never cared about anything is now at the center of everything . . . and it's going to take all his slacker skills to win this round. I love this book because it hila...

Lost in Hollywood

Lost In Hollywood is my favorite book by Cindy Callaghan. Her description of the places Ginger and Payton visited made me feel as if I was there myself. Thirteen-year-old Ginger Carlson feels like she is the only normal one in her family. Her father is an inventor who sells his gadgets online, Mom is obsessed with classic movies, and her brother Grant thinks he is from outer space. Luckily, Ginger has a totally normal BFF, Payton, and they have big plans for the future—they plan to become doctors and open a practice together in a big city. But first, they’re partnering on the state Science Olympics where they’re sure to take home the gold for their eighth grade class with their model of the brain. The Olympics training is interrupted when the Carlson family gets an urgent call that their eccentric Aunt Betty, a former actress who lives in Hollywood, is in serious trouble. The bank is going to take her house unless she can give them the money she owes. The Carlsons head to LA to sort th...
