Happy New Year

I am thrilled to have a new year. Every year I feel like the year has gone by so fast. This year was no exception, even though there is a pandemic this year gave me so many opportunities. I was able to start a blog which I cherish writing in. I can't wait to start a new year and see what new things will enter my life. This was an amazing year for me in my heart.   I wish you and your family a Happy New Year!!!!

Space

Space is filled with unsolved wonders. As I wrote in my previous post "Ocean or Space" that only 4 percent of space has been mapped or discovered. That shows that there is some much out there that could amaze curious eyes. My favorite planet is Neptune, for its beautiful blue.  Facts about Neptune It was discovered by Jean Joseph Le Verrier This is not visible to the naked eye It was initially going to be called Le Verrier after its discovery but it was quickly abandoned It is 17 times larger than Earth and the fourth largest planet in the Solar System There are 14 moons on it Scientists discovered that it takes 164.8 Earth years to orbit the Sun The fist completed orbit was on July 11, 2011 A  few days ago I saw Saturn and Jupiter in the night sky with an app called Sky View Lite.  It was amazing, on the app it shows where planets and constellations are. The best part of it is you can find their location from your own house.  A few years ago my family visited NASA Space Stat

The Outsiders

The Outsiders.                          Written by: S.E. Hinton.                       Reviewed by: Me                                    In school we had to read this book in second quarter. It was so good, it had many plot twists and kept me reading. I wanted to finish reading the book as soon as I started. Ponyboy was part of the Greasers. There were two big groups in the neighborhood, the Socs, and the Greasers. The Socs were rich, spoiled kids, while the Greasers were poor kids. Many times the Socs jumped the Greasers when they were walking alone. Pony's parents died in a car crash, so the only family he has left is his fun brother Soda, and his oldest brother Darry. One night Pony and another Greaser, Johnny were in the park. They meet a bunch of Socs are there. They start an argument and they were drowning Pony. Something bad happens which you would need to read to find out. Book Link:  The Outsiders Fun Facts: The author wrote this when she was in high school She had a smal

Dancing

Youtube Link to my Dance Dance: Kuttunadan Punjayile Sang by: Vidya Vox Danced by: Diya and Isha During the summer Isha and me wanted to do something fun so we decided to do a dance fusion. We combined classical Bharatanatyam with Western dance. We have been taking Bharatanatyam since we were little. It is really fun! We continue to learn it advancing higher and higher after each dance taught. It took us a long time to choreograph it with many obstacles, but at the end it turned out awesome for our first one.  My sister and I learn Bharatanatyam from Guru  Vanitha Veervalli . I hope you like watching it!!!

How To Stay Focused When Studying

School is very important, as is learning which is the whole point of school. When doing online work or homework for school you have to focus on it. What happens if you don't study for an important test? Most likely you won't get a grade you will be satisfied with. Some tips that I use to keep me focused from distracting myself are.... Stay away from social media(texting, watching videos, using phones, etc.) Taking small breaks Start as soon as possible Don't multitask Have a quiet and clean space to limit outside distractions Offer rewards if you finish your homework ( more tv time, candies, etc.) If you are talking to a friend about homework do not change to unnecessary topics (I only do this once in a while) Choose light music to help you focus Don't stay on the same subject for a long time Write down everything even if you know you will remember them

The Phantom Tollbooth

The Phantom Tollbooth By:Norton M. Juster Reviewed By: Diya The Phantom Tollbooth is an amazing, no spectacular book. I loved it. This book was school picked so my whole class had to read it. Milo is a boy who does not have interest in anything. When he was in school he wished he was doing something else when he was not at school. When Milo coms home from his school one day he sees a Tollbooth, Milo enters since he had nothing to do. Little he knew that it could change his life. The cover may not be interesting but this is an engaging book which I loved. It had so many cliffhangers, laughable parts, and strange names. I give it 4 stars.
