Family Vacation Time

I love going on vacation don't you? There are so many exciting places to visit, with things to do for every type of person. There are places for people who want to relax or go on an adventure. Below are some places I have traveled, that I would recommend going to!

1. Maldives

We went to Maldives last summer and had an amazing time. I experienced a lot of firsts there. I went scuba diving for the first time in my life. Although it was not a full experience(the instructor teaching us held on to our oxygen tanks, to keep us from swimming away), we still saw so many amazing fish. There were so many different shapes and sizes along with colorful coral. We saw schools of fish, and they swam in between us. They were so close I could almost touch them. On top of seeing the sea animals we saw an abandoned shipwreck. It was a smaller sized ship compared to the ones in movies, but it was so cool! Another first I had there was walking on a white sand beach. These beaches are completely white. White sand beaches are found in the middle of ocean. Sometimes when the waves are high, they cover up the beach as well because it is a very tiny piece of land. If you are looking for places to travel, Maldives should be at the top of your list!!!

2. Hawaii

We traveled to Hawaii very recently, specifically Maui. The weather there was so much nicer than the cold winters here in the west. The two main attractions we visited in Maui was the Haleakala National Park Summit. We went there early in the morning to see the sunrise above the clouds. This was a once in a lifetime experience. It was so cold, while we were watching the sunset. But I loved the view. The sky turned so many beautiful colors. Another main attraction was the Road to Hana. It is miles long, with stunning views. We saw so many waterfalls. Road to Hana has some famous sights along the way. There is a black sand beach that you can go to. The black rocks are formed from volcano eruptions. Additionally there are hiking trails you can go on. There is a Pipiwai trail, that is a very long hike, reaching a high altitude. Maui beaches are beautiful. You can see a lot of sea life. For  example, we saw a lot of turtles on the beaches we went to.

3. Puerto Rico

Over winter break I traveled to Puerto Rico. The second I landed there was when I knew it would be an exciting experience. Although it is a small island there are still many things you can do there. The main attraction is the EL Yunque Rainforest. It is the only rainforest in the USA. The trails in this rainforest were very adventurous. One day we went on a trail after it had rained so the trails were very muddy. The trails all seem very natural unlike paved paths in the US. Another activity there is seeing Old San Juan. It is a historical visit, where you can see how the old buildings used to look like. One significant in Old San Juan is a fort. This fort protected Puerto Rico from invaders.

All of these 3 places should be at the top of your list to visit!

6th Grade

Knock, knock Who’s there? Justin Justin who? Just in time to login to school for the day. I started 6th grade in the beginning of September. Due to remote learning my classes have been taken remotely. In class we learn something new every day. I always wonder how 6th grade would have been if this global pandemic had never happened.  All of my teachers are really friendly and nice. Why did the Chromebook look so sad during math class?Because it had so many problems!! Just like that remote learning can have many problems but my teachers keep me engaged in class lessons or doing classwork. I really appreciate all of the hard work they have done to make 6th grade enjoyable. I enjoy listening to Hoot&Hollers(book talks) in ELA. In science I enjoy playing Blooklet and learning about the mysteries of light. In math I enjoy being able to understand function concepts easily. In social studies I enjoy learning about culture's, similarities and differences.  Even though, th...

A Little Bit About Me 2020

Hi, my name is Diya Sudhagar. I am currently eleven years old I have four people in my family including me. I have a little sister named Isha, who is in second grade at Welch Elementary. I also have my mom and dad. An area of interest that I have is singing. I came to be interested in it at a young age, maybe around 2 or 3. My parents enrolled me in Hindustani Classical Music when I was around 3-4. I am still learning now and I have performed  many times.  I listen to so many songs, when studying, eating, car rides, movies, restaurants, etc. I feel just that music is a special part of me.   My talents are reading, imagination, organizing, singing, and dancing. I use my talent of organizing to stay neat while doing schoolwork. I use the talent of dancing to dance with my family and friends when we put songs to dance to. My imaginations used when I just want to daydream/imagine things that aren’t true. For instance imagining…. meeting famous people!!! My reading ke...

Apple Picking

Around the end of August my family and another family went apple picking at Kuipers Family Farm. It was the perfect time to go, not too hot, not too cold. A new attraction they had were Sunflower Fields. There were so many beautiful sunflowers. My favorite part about the sunflower fields  🌻 were that each person could pick a sunflower to take home. My little sister's flower was tiny, while mine was medium sized. Whenever we go there we always get fresh donuts from the farm. I would say doing going here is a yearly tradition. Picking fresh apples from the apple trees, and eating them is scrumptious. At the end of our visit all the kids go on a train ride across the apple trees, tunnels, and beautiful flower fields.  Facts about many farms Many times fruits are picked earlier than they should be or have been sprayed with chemicals, but at farms you can pick them fresh without any chemicals Farmers will have to grow 70 percent more food than what is currently produced to fe...
