The Kidnapped Singer

 Prologue

In France, Miss Jasmine Florez was at her singing concert with her mom. She was singing Speechless and So Long Farewell. She loves singing in front of crowds. She saw families sitting together and enjoying the performance. It broke her heart that her younger sister was not there. As the sky darkened, she called a taxi to take her home.

Her mom had been staying with her at Jewel Plaza for the past week while preparing for the concert. Jasmine’s mom was also a famous singer. Her mom stood there and said as she came in: “ You did great sweet pea.” Jasmine looked at her mom with a sad smile. Her mom beckoned for Jasmine to join her on the couch. “ Sweetie I don’t want to worry you but this came in the mail this morning,” her mom said. Her mom handed her a letter with the family crest stamped onto it. She opened it… and read it.

 Chapter 1

The Return Home

Jasmine and her mom’s eyes met. It was like they were talking without words. They started packing and took their private jet back home. The sky was darkening and showering mist over the plane. The pilot could not see, so` he dropped them off somewhere close to the house. Instead of calling a limousine they biked back. Jasmine’s mom bike faster and reached 30 minutes earlier than Jasmine.

When she reached home she was soaking wet. That did not come even 10 inches close to her mind, all that came into thought was her little sister. As she opened the door memories of her sister came into her heart. She was more precious than anything in the world. Her parents motioned for her to sit down. “ Jasmine as you know, Natalie has been kidnapped we do not think it is safe to live here at the moment,” her dad said. Her mom added, “ The police are looking for her at top speed, and we have about 1 hundred detectives, all looking into the case.” Tears ran down her cheeks as if it was raining. Her parents stood up to give her a hug. Their maid Annabelle gave her some soothing mint tea. Jasmine thanked her and her tears evaporated. Her parents gave each other a smile, as Jasmine dashed upstairs. Jasmine texted her friends Ella and Amy on what happened.

Chapter 2

Love Takes The Lead

The next day Jasmine met her friends at Heartfelt Diner. Stepping inside Jasmine saw her friends waving to her. She ran over to them and hugged them so hard they couldn’t breathe. She told them all about what happened, and they started saying “ I’m so sorry” so many times it started to annoy Jasmine.

After they were done saying sorry, they sat down in a corner seat. They started chatting about Natalie and her kidnapping. A couple of moments later a cute boy came over and said hi. Jasmine took a personal interest in the boy. The boy came and introduced himself “ Hi, my name is Robert, and I could not help but overhear you talking about some sort of kidnapping so is there anything I can do to help.” The girls exchanged confused glances. Robert noticed the glances and told them “ I am the son of the police president if that helps.” Jasmine giggled and said, “ That is so sweet of you to ask if you can help so sure you can.”

Robert asked Jasmine if the two of them wanted to go get pizza or something and Jasmine said sure.

Chapter 3

Spying Low, Spying High

As the sky darkened Robert, Ella, and Amy gathered at Jasmine’s house. Amy, the computer geek, was typing down every word they discussed the kidnapping. Ella suggested that they would interview people they thought that would be glad that Natalie got kidnapped.

First, they interviewed Annabelle, the maid, and Annabelle told them “ I treat you so special and you think that I would kidnap your sister.” Annabelle turned away sobbing.

Next, they interviewed Andre, the butler, and he said: “ You can’t put me on your list of suspects because I was out sick that day.” Then he asked them, “ Would you like to get anything to eat or drink or anything needed to help you?” Jasmine told him to inform her parents that they have a meeting to go to with the police.

Jasmine and her friends dashed upstairs toward her sister’s bedroom or in other words where the kidnapping happened. They started looking for clues around every nook or den in the room.

Defeated, they went to the living room to take a break. Suddenly Jasmine remembered something and had to run up to her sister’s room. They crept inside, quiet as air and found a big surprise awaiting them.

Chapter 4

Uncovering The Truth

Her friends gasped at the kidnapper. You must be wondering how they knew it was the kidnapper, well the problem was they were not sure if the person was the kidnapper but it seemed like it had been the kidnapper. Robert tackled the person to the ground. The kidnapper fell unconsciously.

Dragging the person into a closet, Amy held sweet rose perfume under the person’s nose. It woke him/her up right away. Robert pulled off his/her mask and found out it was… Annabelle. Jasmine fainted and crumpled to the ground.

She woke up moments later shocked to see Robert leaning down to give her true love’s kiss. “ Well, I guess true loves kiss doesn’t always work,” Jasmine said giggling.

Have you heard “ Do not judge a book by its cover?” well now you do. That is how Jasmine felt when she first met Annabelle. She felt like she was taken advantage of.

Ella leads everybody to a closet where they locked Annabelle. Jasmine asked Annabelle why did you do this with tears pouring down. Annabelle growled and said “ I am so poor and your parents never gave me a pay raise after all I did. I thought they would become poor after spending so much money on paying the police to find her.” Jasmine told her “ You could have asked instead of kidnapping somebody.” “ Where is Natalie?” Jasmine asked glaring at her. Annabelle said “ Somewhere safe but asleep.”

Annabelle ran but left a note on where Natalie is. The teen’s followed Robert to the warehouse. Natalie was locked in a box crying and as soon as she saw Jasmine she jumped out and wrapped Jasmine so tightly she could not breathe.

They all arrived home and found their parents waiting for them. All families were reunited and hugged each other. Amy said “ Spy high, spy low right.” Jasmine loved the name and said that would be what she was going to call her detective agency.

Favorite Restraunt

I recently came upon an essay I wrote in 5th grade during remote learning. This restaurant is still my favorite. I go there for many celebrations when given the choice to choose where to eat. "Do you love Chinese/Asian food and are waiting to try a new place? Come to P.F. Chang the place that has food based on that. It is my favorite because it has noodles and fried rice, but those are not my only favorite things about P.F. Chang, their decorations are splendid.   P.F. Chang’s lettuce wrap comes in two different tastes/looks. A vegetarian and non-vegetarian one. P.F. Chang has so many decorations such as Chinese/Asian warriors. You can find a Chinese/Asian picture of people as a bar headpiece. Whenever we go there my younger sister and I always alternate between our favorite foods, Lo Mein and fried rice. I always try to eat with the chopsticks. The music they play is not too loud or too sleepy but it feels calm. One of the desserts they have is Lava Cake. It comes with a piece of

Apple Picking

Around the end of August my family and another family went apple picking at Kuipers Family Farm. It was the perfect time to go, not too hot, not too cold. A new attraction they had were Sunflower Fields. There were so many beautiful sunflowers. My favorite part about the sunflower fields  🌻 were that each person could pick a sunflower to take home. My little sister's flower was tiny, while mine was medium sized. Whenever we go there we always get fresh donuts from the farm. I would say doing going here is a yearly tradition. Picking fresh apples from the apple trees, and eating them is scrumptious. At the end of our visit all the kids go on a train ride across the apple trees, tunnels, and beautiful flower fields.  Facts about many farms Many times fruits are picked earlier than they should be or have been sprayed with chemicals, but at farms you can pick them fresh without any chemicals Farmers will have to grow 70 percent more food than what is currently produced to feed the wor

Being Thankful

What is being thankful?  - Being thankful is when you appreciate what you have. If you do not appreciate what you have you will keep on wanting more and more. " Being thankful with what you have while working toward what you want." (This quote can be worded differently but at the end it is the same.) This quote is saying that we have to enjoy what we have but to get what we want we have to work toward it. Many times people are not thankful until they lose something. That is learning that you have to be thankful the hard way. How can I be thankful? - You don't just have to be thankful on Thanksgiving, you can do it all year. Appreciating what you have or people in the world can bring a smile to yours or their face. I appreciate my parents for all their hard work. Another example are the teachers. My teachers work hard to keep us interested in online learning. By just saying how thankful you are to them, it brings joy to their faces. What am I thankful for? My parents, who
