How to Study For Tests(The Procrastinator Version)

It is not easy to study for tests. Especially when you procrastinate or in other words only study at the last minute. Here are some tips on ways to study, and how to stay on task.

ELA:
For vocabulary tests I recommend writing all the words down and/or making a Quizlet. In the long run it helps a lot.

For reading checks, it helps to take annotations along the way, rather than scrambling at the last minute to find key points and terms. Also reading a summary of the reading on SparkNotes always helps.

Grammar is one of the easier parts to study for because quizzes can be found anywhere online.

Social Studies:
Reading checks on articles or historical texts usually only include the main points. It would be the best to make a Quizlet on key terms, characters names, and dates.

Science:
Science is a bit more difficult to study for. It requires looking back at all the course material or experiment's done so far.

Math:
Math is the hardest. Some types of units cannot be found online easily, so it is best to review all the lessons. If material is found online then practicing with them is helpful. What I find to be easiest is writing all the main points on a small notecard. It helps to remember them.

Overall:
1. Put away all electronics or give it to someone who will keep it safe and out of your hands
2. If working on a device not school regulated, then make the window full sized. It prevents moving to games or something that will prevent you from working
3. Study with a friend if it helps you review with them(Socializing and studying 2-in-1)
4. Stay organized, keep each subject materials in one place, so you don't have to waste time looking everywhere for them
5. Take breaks every 45 minutes or so. Studying continuously is not a good idea, because it will tire you out faster
6. If you can start it right after school or as early as possible so it won't be needed to stay up late to do it.

GOOD LUCK STUDYING!!!

6th Grade

Knock, knock Who’s there? Justin Justin who? Just in time to login to school for the day. I started 6th grade in the beginning of September. Due to remote learning my classes have been taken remotely. In class we learn something new every day. I always wonder how 6th grade would have been if this global pandemic had never happened.  All of my teachers are really friendly and nice. Why did the Chromebook look so sad during math class?Because it had so many problems!! Just like that remote learning can have many problems but my teachers keep me engaged in class lessons or doing classwork. I really appreciate all of the hard work they have done to make 6th grade enjoyable. I enjoy listening to Hoot&Hollers(book talks) in ELA. In science I enjoy playing Blooklet and learning about the mysteries of light. In math I enjoy being able to understand function concepts easily. In social studies I enjoy learning about culture's, similarities and differences.  Even though, th...

A Little Bit About Me 2020

Hi, my name is Diya Sudhagar. I am currently eleven years old I have four people in my family including me. I have a little sister named Isha, who is in second grade at Welch Elementary. I also have my mom and dad. An area of interest that I have is singing. I came to be interested in it at a young age, maybe around 2 or 3. My parents enrolled me in Hindustani Classical Music when I was around 3-4. I am still learning now and I have performed  many times.  I listen to so many songs, when studying, eating, car rides, movies, restaurants, etc. I feel just that music is a special part of me.   My talents are reading, imagination, organizing, singing, and dancing. I use my talent of organizing to stay neat while doing schoolwork. I use the talent of dancing to dance with my family and friends when we put songs to dance to. My imaginations used when I just want to daydream/imagine things that aren’t true. For instance imagining…. meeting famous people!!! My reading ke...

Apple Picking

Around the end of August my family and another family went apple picking at Kuipers Family Farm. It was the perfect time to go, not too hot, not too cold. A new attraction they had were Sunflower Fields. There were so many beautiful sunflowers. My favorite part about the sunflower fields  ðŸŒ» were that each person could pick a sunflower to take home. My little sister's flower was tiny, while mine was medium sized. Whenever we go there we always get fresh donuts from the farm. I would say doing going here is a yearly tradition. Picking fresh apples from the apple trees, and eating them is scrumptious. At the end of our visit all the kids go on a train ride across the apple trees, tunnels, and beautiful flower fields.  Facts about many farms Many times fruits are picked earlier than they should be or have been sprayed with chemicals, but at farms you can pick them fresh without any chemicals Farmers will have to grow 70 percent more food than what is currently produced to fe...
